AAA’s Mr. Iguana is one of the most popular WWE Superstars today. He recently made a massive revelation about himself and how a legendary figure helped him along the way.
On AAA’s debut on Fox, Mr. Iguana teamed up with La Parka and Nino Hamburguesa in a six-man tag match against Abismo Negro Jr., Histeria and Taurus. The green-colored luchador got the win for his team after using the latest variation of his finisher, Pongase Verde.
Thanks for the submission!
In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, La Yesca’s master shared that he got the inspiration for his upgraded finisher from Rey Mysterio. He also thanked the WWE Hall of Famer for his contribution to his career.
“When I first tried to do Cazadora from the top into a rana, I remembered the bulldog that Rey Mysterio uses and snatched the head of the oponent for a face bump. Looked good and now is my finisher! Thanks always for the inspiration jefe! @reymysterio #PóngaseVerde,” Mr. Iguana tweeted.
WWE announced back in November that Fox received the media rights contract for AAA in Mexico and the majority of Latin America. Brazil isn’t part of the deal, but it was huge news for the promotion. It premiered on January 17, with the next three episodes already taped.
Mr. Iguana on getting advice from The Undertaker
One of the creative minds behind AAA is The Undertaker. He has been helping as a writer for the promotion, which has positively affected the locker room.
Speaking on Unlikely with Adrian Hernandez back in September, Mr. Iguana revealed how helpful the WWE legend has been to him and the entire AAA roster.
“When I talk to him, it’s just advice. If I’m chill, he’s 100% more. All the time. Never stressed. You never get the feeling that something is bad or something is missing. He’s all chill. My only experience is that he’s seeing the monitors. He’s checking everything. I don’t see the facial expressions, just seeing the monitors,” Iguana said. [H/T eWrestlingNews]
Since WWE acquired AAA, Iguana has appeared and wrestled on RAW, SmackDown and NXT.
