Bella Hadid offered the harrowing reality of living with chronic illness and the silent battles she had to endure behind her glamorous life.
Taking to her Instagram Stories on Friday, November 14, the supermodel, who has been undergoing treatment for Lyme disease since she was 16 years old, shared two posts, addressing her struggles.
In the first slide, she shared a meme with the text that read, “When your chronic illness is chronic illness-ing and someone says ‘it’s always something with you’ like… yes… one might say the illness is… chronic.”
In the following update , the 28-year-model re-shared influencer Alexandra Wildeson’s post about the “duality” of chronic illness.
The post was accompanied by a message of her own, which read, “The medical anxiety is soooooo real.”
“Thank you for putting every one of my thoughts and daily situations into one swipe. The truuuuuth! @alexandrawildeson,” she wrote.
For the unversed, Bella, who is currently dating a professional equestrian Adan Bañuelos, was first diagnosed with Lyme disease in 2012, when she was just a teenager, alongside her mother, Yolanda Hadid, and brother Anwar.
Her latest post came in the wake of her health crisis in recent months. In September, she underwent treatment for Lyme.
Shortly after her visit to the medical facility, Gigi Hadid’s younger sister walked the runway for Saint Laurent during Paris Fashion Week.
That same month, her mother shared her “helplessness” in seeing Bella “struggle in silence.”
